Rausch UK is introducing the mC range to the UK market, giving drainage contractors access to an established family of inspection systems designed for everything from routine domestic surveys to longer-distance and more detailed pipe inspections.
The mC range will sit at the centre of Rausch UK's drainage inspection offer going forward. Rather than expecting one system to cover every application, contractors can select the equipment that best suits the work in front of them while remaining within one connected product range and one support relationship.
For Thomas Baxter, Managing Director of Rausch UK, the launch is about more than introducing new equipment.
"We want to be a long-term partner to our customers. Whether someone is buying their first push camera or investing in a fully equipped CCTV inspection vehicle, our job is to help them choose the right solution and support them every step of the way."
Built around real inspection work
Drainage contractors are under increasing pressure to identify problems accurately and provide clear evidence of pipe condition, often during the first visit.
At the same time, the range of work undertaken by individual businesses continues to widen. A team may carry out a straightforward domestic drain survey in the morning before moving on to a longer manhole-to-manhole inspection or a job requiring a closer examination of a connection, joint or defect.
The mC range has been developed around those different requirements.
At the compact end, the mC30 provides a practical system for smaller-diameter pipework and everyday drainage inspection. It is designed for the routine survey work that forms the foundation of many drainage businesses.
The mC50 provides additional reach and capability, while the mC50 Duo combines two reel and camera configurations within one system. This gives operators greater flexibility across a wider range of applications without requiring two completely separate units.
For longer-distance inspection, the mC80 provides a 130-metre push cable, making it particularly suitable for extended surveys and manhole-to-manhole work.
Where a fixed forward-facing view does not provide enough information, the mC360compact and mC360 introduce pan-and-tilt capability. This allows operators to examine joints, connections and defects from different angles, helping them build a more complete picture of the pipe's condition.
The strength of the range is not simply the number of models available. It is the ability to choose the right system for the application while working with the same supplier, the same support team and the same established technology platform.
Established worldwide
Although Rausch UK is now introducing the mC range more widely to UK contractors, the technology itself is already well established worldwide.
The systems form part of Rausch's international inspection portfolio, with thousands of units sold worldwide.
For UK customers, that track record matters. Inspection equipment is a significant business investment, and contractors need confidence that the products they choose have already been used extensively in genuine working environments.
"When someone buys a camera system, they are buying much more than the equipment in front of them. They are also buying into the manufacturer, the support network and the knowledge that help will be available when they need it."
Introducing an established platform allows Rausch UK to concentrate on helping customers select the right equipment, supported by product knowledge and practical experience developed through years of use across different countries, applications and working conditions.
A clear route for future growth
One of the biggest advantages of the mC range is the progression it creates for customers as their businesses develop.
A contractor may begin with an mC30 to undertake domestic drainage surveys and smaller inspection jobs. As the company wins larger or more demanding work, it can progress into an mC50, an mC80 or one of the mC360 pan-and-tilt systems.
From there, the wider Rausch portfolio provides a route into crawler systems, advanced inspection and reporting solutions and, ultimately, fully equipped CCTV inspection vehicles.
Customers therefore do not need to rebuild their supplier relationship each time their requirements change.
The team that initially demonstrates a push-camera system can continue supporting the customer as the business grows, new contracts are secured and more advanced equipment is required.
"We are not interested in making a sale and then disappearing. We want to understand the work a customer is doing now, where they want their business to go and what equipment will genuinely help them get there."
This approach allows contractors to invest in the capability they need today while knowing there is a clear route forward when they are ready to take on larger or more complex inspection work.
It also helps customers avoid investing in equipment that is either too limited for their future requirements or more complicated than they currently need.
Support that keeps contractors working
Choosing inspection equipment is not simply about comparing headline specifications. The right system should help operators work efficiently, produce reliable results and remain productive throughout its working life.
That depends on more than the camera itself.
Demonstrations, operator training, technical advice, servicing, repairs and access to spare parts all influence the value a contractor receives from its equipment.
Rausch UK therefore treats support as an essential part of the overall package.
Customers can arrange a demonstration before making a purchase, giving them the opportunity to see the equipment operating and decide whether it is suitable for the work they undertake.
Training is available to help operators understand the system from the beginning and use its capabilities effectively. The UK team also provides ongoing technical advice, servicing, repair support and spare parts.
This becomes especially important when equipment is being used every day. A damaged component or unexpected fault can quickly affect scheduled work and customer commitments.
Having access to people who already understand the system and the customer's operation can make a significant difference to how quickly an issue is identified and resolved.
The objective is straightforward: help customers choose the correct system, use it effectively and keep it working.
See the mC range in action
Rausch UK will be demonstrating the mC range to contractors throughout the UK over the coming months.
The systems will also be displayed at No-Dig Live in September, alongside Rausch UK's wider CCTV inspection equipment and vehicle solutions.
However, Tom believes the best way to assess any inspection system is to experience it in realistic working conditions.
"A specification sheet can tell you the cable length, camera size and technical features, but it cannot show you how the system feels to operate or how clearly you can inspect an actual defect. Our advice is simple: book a demonstration, use the equipment and decide whether it is right for the work you do."
For contractors considering their next inspection system, the mC range combines established worldwide technology, a choice of systems for different applications, a clear route for future growth and the backing of a UK team committed to supporting the equipment throughout its working life.
