Founded in April 2024 by Nick Rushworth, IRM Group Ltd was launched, a small team with a bold ambition: to transform the standards of drainage and waste management in the UK.
Fast forward just 12 months, and IRM Group has done exactly that.
Bringing over 30 years of sector experience, well established relationships and a wagon load of determination, IRM has benefitted from a collaboratively driven, commercially focused management team which has seen the company exceed Year 1 revenue expectations by 118% percent, and a growth in headcount from just 2 to 32 (and counting) today. Bold, clear branding, client engagement and customer service excellence have already driven recognition of the IRM brand across the industry.
“We built this business on results, not promises,” says Nick. “We saw what clients were missing in this industry and decided to raise the bar on reliability, professionalism, and range of service.”
Slick, well-thought-out operating processes, a carefully selected bespoke CRM system and strong channels of communication between the operations teams and in the field, engineers drive operational efficiencies across the business.
IRM’s greatest achievement by far is its people. The company's core values underpin everything that has been achieved. “We are motivated to deliver innovative solutions, respectfully. We remain committed to empowering our people to foster respectful, purposeful, collaborative relationships’’ explains Nick.

Investing in people and the planet
With sustainability high on the agenda, IRM Group has begun incorporating environmentally responsible waste disposal methods and energy-efficient technology. Plans are also in motion to launch structured apprenticeship and training programs, ensuring skills development and job creation in local communities.
“We’re growing fast, but we’re doing it the right way,” Rushworth says. “It’s about building a business that supports its people, its clients, and the environment.”
Looking ahead
As IRM Group marks its first anniversary, its future is firmly focused on strategic expansion—both in geography and in service depth. The company is actively exploring additional depot locations, new sector partnerships, and smarter tech integrations to stay ahead of client demand.
IRMs commitment to growth, long-term innovation, and structured processes underpins a scalable business. Its people-focused approach and ongoing commitment of support to the communities it operates in, positions IRM Group as a long-term contributor to the industry.
“We started in a room with no view,” Nick reflects. “Now we’ve built a business with a clear vision—and we’re just getting started.”
